EASTGATEH2V is the first fully integrated Hydrogen Valley in Slovakia — building a clean hydrogen ecosystem across the Košice region to support greener transport, energy and industry.
The project includes four hydrogen deployment sites, 4 MW of electrolyser capacity (2 MW Alkaline and 2 MW PEM) and links to neighbouring Ukraine as part of the Central European Hydrogen Corridor — connecting renewable hydrogen supply from Ukraine, through Slovakia and the Czech Republic, all the way to Germany.
EASTGATEH2V demonstrates how hydrogen technologies can reduce emissions, boost energy security, and support sustainable growth and innovation in Eastern Slovakia — while contributing to Europe’s climate and energy goals.
Hyenergy's part in EASTGATEH2V
Within the EASTGATEH2V, HyEnergy brings expertise, practical know-how and strategic planning to the valley’s initiatives and implementation. Using our extensive hydrogen valley project management experience, HyEnergy are contributing to the development of an integrated hydrogen ecosystem covering the full value chain.
We will deliver realistic business and operational models across the hydrogen value chain through techno-economic analysis. This analysis will help contribute to replication studies, strengthening the cross-border dimension to enable knowledge transfer, helping implement EASTGATE’s blueprint into other regions.
The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Clean Hydrogen Partnership under the Horizon Europe programme.
