The Process
Identifying Viable Projects
- Geography
- Focus on a single renewable resource or are multiple options available?
- Which technology offers the best potential?
- What is the scale of the project?
- Who are the partners that are pivotal to its operation?
As the sector has developed, and the technology has become more mature, we at HyEnergy® recognised the need for a shift in thinking. Instead of developing individual hydrogen projects, there needed to be a whole-systems approach, developing hydrogen production, storage & distribution, and applications simultaneously to sufficiently scale projects. By leading this thinking we helped to develop some of the world’s first hydrogen valley-style projects, helping to write the funding applications for, and obtaining funding for HEAVENN and GREEN HYSLAND – achieving €90m and €50m respectively. Not only do we help to design these projects, but also bring partners into them through our sector contacts as well as participate ourselves and managing projects too.

At HyEnergy® we also work regularly with entities from the private sector too – from large multinational organisations right the way through to micro SMEs. It’s important wherever you are in your hydrogen journey that you understand your place in the market and thus we undertake a number of activities dedicated to getting companies up to speed with their hydrogen ambitions. These include funded proposal preparation, investment due diligence and commercial process and market consultation.

Hydrogen Production Pathways
HyEnergy have assessed, modelled and help to realise multiple hydrogen production pathways whether that be for private institutions or as part of larger scale European projects. These include solar-to-hydrogen as part of the SEAFUEL project and wind-to-hydrogen as part of the GenComm project. We have also helped to integrate a solar farm with waste-to-power into a green hydorgen production project, to name just a few.

Partnerships

New Energy Coallition
HyEnergy® and NEC have worked together on two funded projects – TSO 2020 and HEAVENN – both written by HyEnergy and awarded funding by the EU. This collaboration has been instrumental in HyEnergy® establishing an office in the region and establishing its Dutch entity, HyEnergy® TransStore BV.

Smart Energy Alliance
Pure Energy Professionals (PEP) are renewable energy specialists, with 25 years market, project experience and know-how. PEP have a wide portfolio of blue-chip clients which provides them with significant market access. They work with individuals, companies and investors by partnering, advising, or by FCA authorised corporate finance.
The Next Energy Corporation, formerly known as Nemo Partners, are a Korean based energy company who have specialised in evolving energy markets in their homeland and overseas for approaching ten years. They specialise in power plant development, technology commercialisation, policy and simulation model development, 3D printing and product

HIVE
HIVE have an extensive professional network of suppliers, technology producers and experts which they call upon to tackle the challenge of concept to supply head-on via the deployment of integrated hydrogen value chains. HIVE have close-working relationships with electrolyser producers, compression and storage manufacturers as well as technology integrators and regularly call upon qualified, proven, reliable organisations to help them deliver full hydrogen solutions to our customers.
HIVE and HyEnergy® have a long-standing relationship with their most notable collaboration coming in the form of SH₂AMROCK, a hydrogen valley project which will see the development of the Galway Hydrogen Hub and demonstrate multiple end-uses for hydrogen in mobility and industry.

Green Planet
Green Planet offer clean energy solutions for a variety of mobility applications including their futuristic gas station supplying green fuels and hospitality; Green mobility by offering a range of used electric and hydrogen cars; Green Planet Trucks, which is a driver of affordable, sustainable transport; subsidies, zero-emission trucks and green truck fuels; And Green Planet Mobile Energy which supplies hydrogen refuelling and fast charging for construction sites, facilitating zero-emission construction sites.
HyEnergy and Green Planet have launched a joint venture: HyPlanet, as part of the HEAVENN project, with the goal of developing a hydrogen compression hub, where HyPlanet will operate the tube trailers when the hub becomes fully operational.

New Energy Coallition
New Energy Coalition (NEC) drives innovation and education by bringing together knowledge, policy
and entrepreneurship that is based in the north of the Netherlands. NEC have been instrumental in
developing a hydrogen narrative in the Netherlands which has grown to become a national theme.
NEC participate in funded projects providing leadership, coordination and local knowledge to enable
technology demonstration and deployment.

Pressure Technologies
PT has been a leader in the design, development and manufacture of high pressure seamless steel gas cylinders for over 100 years. Its origins trace back to The Universal Weldless Steel Tube Company Limited, which was formed in London in 1897 and later acquired in 1906 by Chesterfield Tube Company Limited. HyEnergy initially worked with PT in order to develop a hydrogen business plan for their cylidner business, however, after working together found that a more long-term relationship would be beneficial. Thus, HyEnergy now work regularly alongside PT providing market updates, product assessment and market representation services to ensure the most successful deployment of their product.
