GREEN HYSLAND aims to deploy a fully-functioning Hydrogen (H2) ecosystemin the island of Mallorca, Spain, turning the island into Europe’s first H2 hub in Southern Europe. This will be achieved by producing green hydrogen from solar energy and delivering it to the end users, such as the island’s tourism, transport, industry and energy sectors, including gas grid injection for green heat and power local end-use.
HyEnergy helped to design and write the funding application for the project which was obtained a €10m EU grant, as well as a further €50m from public and private co-funding. HyEnergy will participate in Green Hysland via another subsidiary – HyEnergy Consultancy (Europe) BV, supporting the deployment of green hydrogen infrastructure locally, enabling access to hydrogen for some of the planned locations, as well as leading the development of business models and a regional roadmap for the Balearic islands.
